Sometimes flowers are so intricate that they look biomechanical or psychedelic. This flower had that quality. I just wanted to capture the shape and movement. The colors made me think of the hippie psychedelic patterns I remember from my childhood in the seventies. This is a very big and happy painting would look great in a boho room above a sofa.
